University of Michigan, Pre-Med
My name is Chelsey Foster and I am a freshman at the University of Michigan. I am on the pre-med track and am planning on graduating in 2019. I am immensely grateful to be a Battier Take Charge scholarship recipient. I had all of the grades and the test scores to go to college, but I still feared that I would have to take out loans and even pick up a work study job to pay for my books and other things. It means a great deal to me that I can focus all of my time and energy on my academics and making all of my dreams come true. I am happy to announce that I will be going to Uganda in May to work with disabled children, tending to some of their needs and teaching them English. My lifelong goal is to practice third world medicine and help people in underserved communities. This opportunity serves as a head start, and is something that I would not have been able to take advantage of if it had not been for the Battier Take Charge Foundation.
